Business Technology

What is it?

The Business Technology skill is structured to prepare you for profitable work as an office worker. Because of the advancement of technology, many positions are available for students entering the job market from this skill.

What will I learn?

In this program you will learn employability skills, the fundamental use of a calculator, typewriter, Dictaphone and telephone. You will learn business math and record keeping, vocabulary skills, writing skills, as well as the use of computers and various computer programs. You will do much of the basic typing and designing and printing of posters for various departments of the center. You will also work in several offices to assist with filing, typing and other office duties.

What kind of job will I be able to get?

Job titles include clerk, administration assistant, banking associate, cashier, computer technician, secretary, business office assistant, data entry specialist, word processor, and telemarketing representative.

How much will I earn?

Wages for Business Technology workers range from $6 to $15 per hour.
