Facilities Maintenance

What is it?

The Facilities Maintenance skill is structured to prepare you for profitable work in the building maintenance field. Because of the advancement in the housing field there are many positions available for students entering the job market from this skill.

What will I learn?

You will learn employability skills that will enable you to obtain and retain a job in this skill field. You also will learn basic orientation to building maintenance, carpentry and finishing procedures, basic plumbing and electrical procedures, OSHA Construction safety rules and procedures, grounds keeping and landscaping skills and other basic skills required in maintaining a building or apartment facility.

What kind of job will I be able to get?

Job titles include construction helper, electrician's helper, plumber's helper, carpentry helper and building and grounds maintenance worker.

How much will I earn?

Wages for Facilities Maintenance workers range from $8 to $13.50 per hour.
