Landscaping

What is it?

Landscaping involves the design, maintenance and beautification of outdoor spaces with natural and man-made products.

What will I learn?

In addition to learning employability skills you will need to obtain and retain a job in landscaping, you will learn the following: basic maintenance and operation of equipment used in landscaping, including power and hand tools and equipment; planting and care of trees, shrubs and other plants; entry level sprinkler system installation and repair; and basic landscape construction.

What kind of job will I be able to get?

Jobs in Landscaping are available with landscape companies, irrigation companies, city parks departments and golf courses. Available jobs may include light equipment operator. People trained in landscaping also often start their own successful businesses.

How much will I earn?

Entry-level wages in Landscaping range from $8 to $15 an hour.
